Intérêt légitime
Legitimate Interest Claim
BCOVERY SAS – IAB Europe TCF Vendor ID 1069 – Last updated: 27 April 2026
BCOVERY SAS participates in the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework and complies with its Specifications and Policies. BCOVERY SAS uses IAB Europe-assigned Vendor ID 1069.
This page explains the TCF Purposes and Special Purposes for which BCOVERY may rely on legitimate interest, and the safeguards applied when doing so.
1. Current role and scope
BCOVERY is a digital advertising trading desk. BCOVERY no longer deploys publisher-side collection scripts, tags or SDKs for the TCF processing described here. BCOVERY may process pseudonymous personal data, hashed identifiers, device identifiers, IP address-derived information, campaign events, TC Strings and other privacy signals received from SSPs, DSPs, data providers, identity partners and other advertising partners.
BCOVERY relies on legitimate interest only where the relevant TCF Purpose or Special Purpose allows it, the processing is necessary and proportionate, the user has not objected where an objection right is available, and the relevant TC String and Publisher restrictions support the processing.
2. Purposes for which BCOVERY may rely on legitimate interest
| Purpose | Legitimate interest pursued | Main safeguards |
|---|---|---|
| Purpose 2 – Use limited data to select advertising | Select, limit, sequence or exclude advertising based on limited contextual, technical or campaign data, such as page/app context, device type, non-precise location, placement, frequency and campaign constraints, without using a personalised advertising profile. | TC String and Publisher-restriction checks; no use of this purpose to create or use advertising profiles; minimised data; 90-day maximum retention for user-level activation data. |
| Purpose 7 – Measure advertising performance | Measure campaign delivery and effectiveness, including impressions, clicks, conversions, reach/frequency, attribution and reporting needed by clients, partners and BCOVERY. | Purpose-limited reports; minimisation; pseudonymous identifiers; contractual controls with partners; 90-day maximum retention for user-level measurement data unless a shorter period applies. |
| Purpose 10 – Develop and improve services | Improve BCOVERY services, reporting workflows, partner integrations, operational quality controls and security processes. | Service-improvement data is limited and minimised; not used to build or improve personalised advertising profiles; up to 365-day maximum retention where necessary. |
BCOVERY does not rely on legitimate interest for Purpose 3 (Create profiles for personalised advertising) or Purpose 4 (Use profiles to select personalised advertising). Those activities are performed only where consent is present for the relevant Purpose and Vendor ID 1069.
3. Special Purposes based on legitimate interest
| Special Purpose | Why it is necessary | Safeguards |
|---|---|---|
| Special Purpose 1 – Ensure security, prevent and detect fraud, and fix errors | Detect invalid traffic, fraud, abuse, security incidents and technical errors affecting advertising delivery or reporting. | Purpose limitation; access controls; logging and incident processes; no use for personalised advertising unless a separate legal basis exists. |
| Special Purpose 2 – Deliver and present advertising and content | Receive/respond to advertising requests, facilitate ad delivery through partners, ensure technical compatibility and route users to landing pages. | Limited technical data; no unnecessary storage; partner controls; processing restricted to delivery/presentation operations. |
| Special Purpose 3 – Save and communicate privacy choices | Receive, read, retain for limited audit purposes and pass TC Strings or equivalent signals so that BCOVERY and partners can respect consent, objection and Publisher-restriction choices. | TC Strings are used to enforce choices; signals are passed without extension, modification or supplementation except where allowed by the TCF; retention is limited to accountability and operational needs. |
4. Legitimate Interest Assessment summary
Purpose test
BCOVERY’s legitimate interests include operating a lawful trading desk service, enabling limited advertising selection and delivery, measuring campaign performance, protecting the advertising ecosystem from fraud and errors, respecting privacy signals and improving service quality.
Necessity test
The processing is limited to data necessary for the declared purpose, such as pseudonymous identifiers, technical advertising signals, campaign events and TC Strings. BCOVERY does not use its own publisher-side script, does not declare TCF client-side storage, does not intentionally process special categories of personal data or criminal-conviction data, and does not use precise geolocation or active device-characteristic scanning in its current TCF operation.
Balancing test
BCOVERY considers that the legitimate interests described above are not overridden by data subjects’ interests or fundamental rights when the safeguards in this claim are applied: TCF transparency through CMPs and public disclosures; TC String and Publisher-restriction checks; right to object where available; consent-only treatment for personalised-advertising profile creation/use; minimisation; limited retention; security measures; partner due diligence and contractual controls.
5. User objection and suppression
Where BCOVERY relies on legitimate interest for a TCF Purpose, users can object through the relevant publisher CMP or other privacy-choice interface that generated the TC String. If BCOVERY receives a TC String or equivalent signal indicating that the user objected to legitimate-interest processing for BCOVERY or the relevant Purpose, BCOVERY suppresses the corresponding processing and onward transfer.
Users may also contact BCOVERY at support@bcovery.com or raphael.nataf@bcovery.com.
6. Retention and review
BCOVERY uses a maximum 90-day retention period for user-level audience activation, limited ad selection, personalised advertising subject to consent, advertising measurement, delivery, security/fraud/error and privacy-signal operations. Limited service-development and improvement records may be retained for up to 365 days where necessary and minimised. Legitimate Interest Assessments and this public claim are reviewed at least annually and when there is a material change to BCOVERY’s services, partners, purposes, legal bases or TCF Policies/Specifications.
